"Good Morning America" co-host Robin Roberts is to report live from New Orleans ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl, ABC said Tuesday.

Roberts, a native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, is to anchor Friday's edition of the morning program from New Orleans, while George Stephanopoulos will anchor the show live from Times Square Studio in New York with Sam Champion and Juju Chang.

"Roberts will report on how the New Orleans Saints' success and road to the Super Bowl has had a positive effect on the rebuilding of the city," ABC said in a news release. "Reporting live from Jackson Square, Roberts, with the help of three New Orleans chefs, as well as Emeril Lagasse via Skype from Miami, will also prepare must-have Super Bowl dishes."

The Saints will play the Indianapolis Colts Sunday.
