A new service offered by web promoter uSocial.net has copped some flak over the ability for users to buy Twitter followers. This comes just days after the company launched the new service which they say is selling incredibly well, despite the criticism from some.

"We have received a little negative feedback from some users as they seem to believe there is something unethical about our new service." Said uSocial founder and company CEO Leon Hill. "Though we can't understand why as we simply manage accounts and help people do something which they may not have the time themselves to do."

The company offers their clients 'packages' of followers from 1,000 to 10,000 at a time, ranging in price from $87 to $497. They are not the first company to offer such a service, however they claim they offer the lowest costs for such a service.

"Despite the few negative emails, the service is flourishing better than we ever could have hoped," continued Hill. "We're not going to get a few bad apples get to us as it's no worse than what we've heard before."

Hill is referring to the widespread disapproval of their company's initial service which allowed clients to purchase votes on social bookmarking sites like Digg to artificially increase rankings. Not only did the company receive a vast amount of press attention, but they also received a Cease & Desist order from Digg's lawyers demanding they cease trading.

Despite this, uSocial have continued to sell their artificial social bookmarking services along with a suite of new ones relating to the social media industry. uSocial's website can be viewed by going to www.uSocial.net.
